Daniel J. Kim

Daniel Kim is a Patent Attorney at BainwoodHuang. He is primarily engaged in patent prosecution for the firm in a broad range of mechanical, electronic, and computer-related technologies.

Daniel received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University and received a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law. As a staff editor on the University of Baltimore Law Review, he authored the Comment publication The Untimely Death of the On-Sale Bar to Patentability, 47 U. Balt. L.R. 439 (2018). Daniel has lectured on a variety of topics including intellectual property and business organizations.

Daniel’s prior work covers a wide variety of technical fields. His work in software technologies includes networks, storage systems, error detection, data security, and database management. His work in hardware technologies includes engines, mechatronics, robotics, medical devices, and control systems. Daniel has also contributed to the development of collision avoidance systems in vehicles.

Daniel is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is also admitted to the Maryland Bar.
