Richard E. Gamache

Rich Gamache is a Senior Patent Attorney at Bainwood, Huang & Associates, LLC, and has substantial experience both as a working engineer and as a patent attorney. He is primarily engaged in patent prosecution for the firm in a broad range of electrical, electronic, and computer-related technologies, including systems, semiconductors, and software, as well as communications and networking technologies such as voice and video communications systems, mobile communications systems, high capacity digital communications systems, and network architectures. His intellectual property experience also includes patent infringement and validity studies, and trademark practice.

Rich has over 20 years of experience as a patent attorney. Before joining the Bainwood-Huang firm, Rich was an associate and partner at other patent law firms in the Boston area. He also served as an in-house patent attorney for Teradyne Inc., a leading automatic test equipment manufacturer, and worked for over a decade as a research engineer for Federal Products Company, where he performed research and development activities on dimensional gauging instruments using electrical and microprocessor hardware and software design techniques.

Rich graduated from Brown University with an Sc.B. degree in Electrical Engineering. During his time at Brown, he was admitted to the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society, and the Sigma Xi scientific research honor society. Rich received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School. At Suffolk Law School, he was admitted to the Phi Delta Phi honorary legal fraternity.

Rich is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He is also a member of the Boston Patent Law Association and the Providence Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), where he has held the positions of Secretary, Vice Chairman, and Chairman.
