Jeffrey J. Duquette, counsel to the Firm, handles all aspects of patent and trademark law, including patent and trademark application preparation and prosecution.
Jeff holds a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School and earned both a Bachelor of Science, with distinction, and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Jeff is admitted to practice before the Bar in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Jeff’s areas of technical expertise include mechanical devices and systems, medical devices, optics, electronics, computers, and software. Additionally,
Jeff manages patent portfolios for a variety technology companies and provides a wide range of intellectual property counseling services including non-infringement, validity, and right-to-use opinions.
Before entering the field of patent law, Jeff worked as a Biomechanical Engineer at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Department of Orthopedics and performed research in the areas of soft tissue mechanics, bone fixation technology, and noninvasive measurement of bone material properties. During his tenure at the University of Massachusetts, he co-authored and published a number of articles that have appeared in the
Journal of Biomechanics, Bone, Calcified Tissue International, and the
Journal of Biomechanical Engineering.
